I don’t understand

15 Apr

I don’t understand what goes on in the minds of terrorists. I don’t understand the purpose of their actions. I am left with so much anger, frustration, and sadness.

The Boston Marathon is the marathon of marathons. Athletes and runners around the world strive and train for it every year. It’s not for them to win or even to get PRs, it’s for them to reach a dream. It’s for them to prove to themselves they can do the unthinkable. It’s a time of empowerment, willpower, positivity, strength, and not allowing defeat.

Today was a day to celebrate the accomplishments of those who have trained so hard to run the Boston marathon, instead we are feeling confused, angry, sad, and helpless.

“If you are losing faith in human nature today, watch what happens in the aftermath of an attack on the Boston Marathon. The flood of donations crashed the Red Cross’s Web site. Runners are already vowing to be at marathons in the coming weeks and months. This won’t be the last time the squeakers run Boston. This won’t be the last time we gather at the finish line to marvel how much more we can take than anyone ever thought possible.” Ezra Klein from the Washington Post    {read more}

I am praying for the safety of those in Boston tonight and for the loved ones of all the fallen heros. With a heavy heart…

    Such a horrible, unbelievable and devastating tragedy. Even days after, I’m still in such disbelief. Sending many prayers and thoughts across the ocean to all who have been affected xo.
