2 Jan

I’ve totally been slacking when it comes to updating ya’ll on my Holiday break! So I hope a quick update (filled with a photo bomb!) is ok!!

It was spent with lots of family and friends, opening lots of gifts, and making memories.

For Christmas Eve, we opened gifts with my immediate family. This included David, my Mom, my Dad, my sister, brother-in-law and 2 nephews…it took us over 2.5 hours to unwrap all of the presents we had in front of us!

IMG_9049I can’t wait to try a taste of this! Homemade Apple Pie is one of my favorites so anxious to see if this compares.

IMG_8787After opening presents, we went to church and then back to my parents for a few glasses of wine and some reminiscing. Christmas day morning, David and I woke up, got ready and took a tray of treats to our friend at the fire station so that they could have some Christmas goodies.

IMG_20121225_105602We also visited with my In-Laws for a bit…

IMG_20121221_202101After that, we went back to my parents for Christmas with my Aunt and Uncle. It was a very nice day. I’m not going to lie, the day came with some heartache as last Christmas I had so much hope we would be celebrating this year with a little one or at least one on the way, but I realized how much I would regret being down all Christmas this year and that being sad doesn’t change anything. I surrounded myself with my loved ones and everything was better!

This past Saturday we also had David’s side Christmas, which was full of playing cards, eating food, and watching a hockey game on TV that night.

For New Years Eve we had a small farewell 2012 party at our house. It was a lot of fun and felt very refreshing to welcome in a new year!

We played catch phrase…

And watched the hockey game on TV by the fire…too bad they lost! IMG_20130101_014943And now, I hope that this is true! I’ve always been a sucker for a good horoscope!

IMG_20121228_074430Happy Holiday’s everyone (even though they are very belated…) I hope everyone had a great time full of love and memories and welcomed 2013 in with open arms!

Merry Christmas

25 Dec

On this Christmas morning I would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas! I pray that you all have lots of love, hope and happiness that surrounds you because thats what life is all about!

Santa promised me a raincheck for the ultimate gift I could ever imagine but he gave me many blessings to smile about this year and I am looking forward to the year to come.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Pictureless Tuesday & Randoms

18 Dec

Hi everyone! I have been super busy the past few days getting every thing ready for Christmas. Last night, David and I got a few last minute things and tonight I plan to wrap, wrap, wrap! I love this time of year!

This past weekend we had our cookie day and we made soo many cookies! Gingersnaps, snicker doodles, peanut butter with chocolate stars, sugar cookies, M&M cookies, Andes mint chocolate cookies…the list goes on! It was a lot of fun!!

We also had a hockey game this weekend. Best game I’ve seen in a long time! This team is crazy good and I hope that we can get another championship under our belts. Since David is a total hockey nut, it’s a lot more fun when they win vs. when they lose…pouty David is no fun!

Sad note: Do you know how hard it is to find the movie Elf a week before Christmas!? It is one of my favorites and most years I watch it on TV but this year we are depending on Netflix Watch Instantly and it’s not on there! It’s sold out every where that I’ve looked so far!! Grr…

Happy note: We are supposed to get 5-8″ of snow tomorrow night!!! It’s only snowed once so far this year and it was only here for a few days and then it melted. The past 2 winters have been weird and we don’t get as much snow or as cold of weather as we did when I grew up (global warming at it’s finest) but Christmas just isn’t Christmas without some snow on the ground so I am pretty excited it will be here to stay…for a while at least! Some sources are even saying more on the 9-12″ amount for us! Pretty please!?! Then we can have a shoveling party because that is the one downfall of snow……

I hope everyone is having a great week countdown to Christmas!

Moment of Silence

I wasn’t able to get on the past few days to write about a moment of silence for the Connecticut victims but I am truly saddened for all of the victims and their families. I have been struggling with the why’s and trying to make sense of it all as I’m sure many of you are. Mental illness is a HUGE problem in our society and something we need to face & fight for change. Too many innocent lives have been lost because of it. Please take a moment of silence and prayer for those victims, their families, and our society as we try to make sense of it all and protest for positive change.
